Welcome back!!!!! Wow it’s been so long since I’ve published anything on my site, y’all will have to forgive me…medical school is ROUGH🥹 But I’m really excited to share this specific post with you because its NYE and I think this is the perfect blog post to read as you start off 2023🎉 I’ll keep it short and sweet so let’s get into it!!

This blog is titled “Stop playing with your own potential” for the reason being that we all have these big dreams that are well within reach but we sometimes let fear get in the way. Reflecting on the year 2022 and how far I’ve come, I’m extremely proud of how much I believed in myself and everything I was able to accomplish. Every goal I had, whether small or big, I achieved because I stopped playing with my own potential. I'm not going to lie, I was very surprised but truth is I always had it in me. And YOU DO TOO!

Back in August I finally started my journey to becoming a physician by going off to medical school (the reason I haven’t been writing as much). I was definitely scared of what to expect, even though I had made it that far. Being a doctor has been a dream for so long and it was finally becoming reality so yeah fear wanted to take over. Sometimes it takes remembering what you’ve accomplished in the past to help remind you of everything you’re capable of. It also helps to train your mindset and surround yourself with like minded people that can also remind you of your potential. If I’m ever doubting myself, my support system is there to pick me up and help move me back in the right direction.

Okay enough about me, let’s talk about YOU. Where do you see yourself in the next couple of years? What kind of life do you want to be living?

“If you can dream it, you can do it”

It‘s time for you to start creating the life you want to live, no excuses. That’s what I had to tell myself because nobody’s going to do it for you. Let 2023 be that clean slate and a fresh start for you. If there’s anything you should’ve accomplished in 2022, it’s not too late….here’s your friendly reminder to get to it. And if no one’s told you, I believe in you🙂 Whether it’s your career goals, education goals, relationship goals, personal growth goals, you’re more than capable of it. Something I’m working on doing more is focusing on what I can control vs. dwelling on what is out of my control. So even if you’re not in the position to accomplish that goal as of yet, focus on improving what you can in the meantime.

The journey to unlocking your full potential is not an easy one. It takes dedication, consistency, patience, and of course WORK. I’m not even my best self yet so my work is not done. The goals I have for 2023 will take sacrifice and focus but I’m speaking into existence because I want to live a certain lifestyle and nothing will stop me until I make it there. I told myself with starting medical school that I wanted to continue doing things for me and that I didn’t want school to consume me. I still wanted to practice those habits that kept me at peace and in touch with the woman I’ve worked so hard to become. Maintaining a balance between school and my social life, keeping up with blogging, and excercising/practicing healthy habits is the type of graduate student I wanted to be. That’s just an example of how I stuck to my personal goal this semester and didn’t play with my potential. Yes I had some ups and downs but I was consistent no matter what and that’s what helped me do everything I said I was going to do.

So I know I got you thinking about those goals now right ?! It’s a new day and a new year so put yourself first and get serious about what you want. I want to encourage you to just keep going because you have the potential, now it’s time to just stop playing with it. I’m writing this blog for my loyal readers but I’m really about to take my own advice because I have so many great ideas for my blog next year, it’s just time to get to work. We’re going to be great this year, I just know it✨ Make sure to like, comment some of your 2023 goals, and subscribe to my site to stay up to date with new content. Happy New Year🎊

Virtually Yours,

SNT
