Hey ya'll! So I'll start off by saying that this post will be a little different than what you're used to reading. Usually I get into some deep topics about things I've personally gone through. I wanted to switch up the mood and write about something fun. Also a little while back, I asked my Instagram followers about the type of content they wanted to see more of on my blog, and brunch was one of them! Soooo brunching, let's get into it😋
What is brunch
Now I know most of y'all know what brunch is, but I'm going to go ahead and be basic and define it anyway!
Unofficial definition: An acceptable excuse to get drunk before noon
Official definition: A combination of a late breakfast and an early lunch
I like the unofficial definition better but that's just me! Typically served between the hours of 11am and 3pm, brunch really is a combination of breakfast and lunch, topped off with mimosas of course. Although the OJ and champagne mix is most popular, there are different brunch beverages such as bloody mary's and sangrias. For the non-drinkers, coffee, OJ, and fruit juices are going to be your go to. As for the food......I'll get into some great brunch spots in a little, but you can expect to order anything from french toast to chicken wings lol. Chicken and waffles is a common menu item and is pretty good whether you eat it seperate like me or together. The menus vary but the idea is that you'll be able to order either breakfast or lunch, whichever you prefer! Sandwiches and burgers are great for hangovers, speaking from experience of course, and anything on the menu with "hangover" in front of it is always a great idea😅
What to expect at brunch
Good music and good vibes (assuming there's a lit DJ and a chill group of friends)
Bottomless mimosas/drink deals (most restaurants have this, just be on time so you don't miss out)
Loud talking (that's the liquor kicking in)
To not be productive after (if you're drinking you won't, been there tried that lol)
Upcharges (side of this and a side of that, them prices add up hunny!)
The urge to take pics/videos (brunch is a vibe so pull that phone out and snap them pics)
Champagne with a splash of OJ (every restaurant is different and some may very well give you OJ with a splash of champagne instead😂)
A lituation, PERIOD

Okay so now you're thinking where can you go to experience a great brunch. Well I've lived in Florida for most of my life and my adulthood was spent in South Florida and now Tampa. With that being said, I'll name a few of my favorite spots but there is still a huge variety of brunch spots in different cities and states I've yet to try!
A few of my fav brunch spots
American Social- locations in South Florida, Orlando, and Tampa. I can't speak for all locations but the Tampa location usually does ladies drink free on Saturdays with the purchase of an entree.
Tap 42- locations only in South Florida. I've heard their chicken and waffles are to die for!
Bar Louie- locations in South Florida, Orlando, and Tampa. Their mimosas hit different!
Cask Social- located in Tampa. Tried their breakfast shot for the first time and I must say, it taste like pancakes lol could not taste the alcohol.
7th and Grove- located in Tampa. Black owned and the vibe alone is enough but their food is amazing!
Shooters Waterfront- located in Fort Lauderdale. I've never been lol but I have heard great things and my next trip to South Florida will involve a stop here!
Boca- located in Tampa area, not to be confused with the actual city name. Their food was good, but the scenery and vibe didn't wow me.
The Scrambled Egg- located in Tampa area. Mom and pop restaurant with really good food and hospitality.
Another Broken Egg Cafe- locations in South Florida, Orlando, and Tampa. Great food and drinks, they didn't disappoint!
Bulla Gastrobar- located in South Florida, Orlando, and Tampa. I think their food was good but overpriced, however, their sangria was worth the money spent!
Well there you have it! This post was meant to be short and sweet and to give you a little insight on the brunch scene. If you're not new to this, keep on brunchin'🥂 If you're new to this and want to experience the lituation, plan your next free Saturday/Sunday with some friends and enjoy a nice afternoon filled with laughter and good vibes😊 Feel free to comment some of your favorite brunch spots below, I'm always open to trying new places, doesn't matter the city or state!
