It's so easy to get caught up in this false reality of social media and what it portrays. I mean I get it, it's a way to stay connected with family and friends for the most part. But it's also a way to get distracted and start comparing where you are in life versus the next person.

Scrolling through Instagram, you see businesses booming, careers taking off, and people honestly finding their place in this world. And if you're not exactly where you want to be in life, it's easy to get discouraged and think the next person is doing better than you. Here's the thing: we don't know their journey and what they may have had to go through to get to where they are. I think it's important to realize that we will all have a very unique journey. And on our journey, will come detours that may allow us to get to where we're going in a different time frame....and that's OKAY.

I'll be transparent and admit that seeing my colleagues on social media advancing in their careers, and lives was hard for me at one point. I couldn't understand how they were so far ahead and why I felt so behind. Don't get me wrong, I'm definitely happy for them!! (I'm not a hater y'all) I just couldn't help but wonder when my time would come. Why haven't I started working at my dream job? Or, why haven't I started up a business I'm passionate about? So many questions I wanted answers to.

This December will make 4 years since I've graduated college with my bachelor's degree. Have I used it at all? NOPE. I'm not even working in my field of study. If things actually went according to plan, I would've finished graduate school this year and would be working in my dream career. I've had a lot of detours on my journey but honestly, that's what makes it MY journey. During these 4 years, I've learned so much about myself and I've grown into this amazing selfless woman who will carry so many life lessons with her throughout the future.

Although I need reminding every now and then, I realized that God had a very specific plan set in place for me. Because I wasn't able to start graduate school right away, didn't mean I was denied. I was exactly where I needed to be, and because of that delay in my journey, I'm now ready to start graduate school in August and I wouldn't trade these past 4 years for anything. I needed those life experiences to prepare me for what's to come in the next few years.

So wherever you are on your specific journey, embrace it! Maybe your business hasn't taken off yet. Or maybe, you haven't closed on that dream home. Whatever the case may be, you are exactly where you need to be right now. You're being prepared for the success that's coming to you but we can't rush the process or choose when that success comes. And it's finally here! I hope this post motivates you and gives you the extra push to continue going harder. Your goals are well within reach and the timeline doesn't matter. I worked hard, prayed harder, and was persistent with reaching my goal. And it's finally here! You're up next😊🎉

"Success gets delayed, but not denied when backed with commitment."

Virtually Yours,
